This was reported by AFP with reference to a high-ranking police official, Ukrinform reports.
"At least 31 people have been killed so far, including 16 police officers, and more than 100 have been injured in a militant and suicide attack," the official said.
He explained that on Friday afternoon the attackers stormed the Old Police Lines complex in the city of Kohat, which has a population of about 220,000.
This complex serves as a district-level police headquarters, housing key units of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), the Special Branch, and a number of other police services.
"Several militants have still barricaded themselves in the premises of the Special Unit of the Kohata Police Complex," the police spokesman said on condition of anonymity.
